The department reminded:
- From September to October, events will be held throughout the country aimed at supporting, active longevity and honoring older citizens. Among the main ones are the first Union meeting of citizens of the older generation “We are for active longevity” (Vitebsk, September 23-25), the republican job fair for the elderly and disabled (September 28-October 2), the press conference “Day of Respect and Kindness”. Creating conditions for healthy longevity at the National Press Center on September 29.
On October 1, on the Day of the Elderly, at 11:00, the V Republican Nordic Walking Marathon “Step to Longevity” will be held throughout the country (platforms will be known later). It is also planned to hold a round table “The older generation: well-being, care and attention”, an international forum “Innovations for the quality of life of people 65+”, a republican scientific and practical conference on geriatrics, free legal advice for older citizens “Know your rights”. Finally, on October 3, the opening of the republican sports and mass competitions “Active Longevity – 2026” will take place.
In addition, charitable events and initiatives will be held in all regions of the country during September and October. Among them are assistance to the elderly in harvesting, restoring order in the local area and delivering agricultural products at fairs, targeted visits to the home of war and labor veterans, single citizens with legal and social assistance, intergenerational projects, festive concerts, dialogue platforms, creative competitions (Supergrandmother, festivals of creativity) and master classes, training of elderly people in safety rules within the framework of the Youth for Security campaign.
