In Bryansk opened an exhibition for the 35th anniversary of the regional customs

On October 20, the Bryansk State Museum of Local Lore opened an exhibition “35 Years of Bryansk Customs: Traditions and Progress”. The exposition presents historical and cultural values that customs officers seized during attempts of illegal export and transferred to museum funds.
As the director of the local history museum Irina Kuleshova noted, thanks to the work of customs officers, the museum collections were replenished with weapons, written sources, graphics and icons. As a sign of gratitude, she handed the head of the Bryansk customs Victoria Kobets a letter of thanks and anniversary booklets.
In total, during the cooperation, customs handed over to the museum about four thousand items of historical and cultural value. At the exhibition you can see old printed publications, icons, church utensils, awards, numismatic and philatelic collections, as well as household items. The origin of the exhibits is confirmed by documents of seizure, expert opinions and court decisions.
A separate part of the exhibition is devoted to the daily work of the customs service. Visitors will be shown photos of employees, uniforms, technical means of inspection of different years and professional paraphernalia. The organizers also recreated the workplace of the customs inspector of the 1990s.
