In Chelyabinsk, a woman gave birth to a girl weighing more than five kilograms

In the maternity hospital of the Chelyabinsk regional clinical hospital No. 3, a girl weighing 5180 grams and 58 centimeters tall was born. The baby was born naturally, although doctors assumed that his weight would be much less.

The baby's mother is raising three children. For a woman, this is the fourth birth, and all her children she gave birth in OKB No. 3.

During pregnancy, tests showed that the weight of the baby will be approximately 3,980 grams. For a mother with many children, this forecast did not look unusual: her older children were born with similar indicators.

However, after the birth of her daughter, it turned out that the girl weighs more than five kilograms.

“When I was informed after giving birth that my daughter weighed 5,180 grams, I was frankly shocked,” Alfiya Samatova said.

At the same time, according to the woman, the birth itself was quite fast and easy. The parents named their daughter Altynai. The name translates as “golden moon”. According to the mother, the family was waiting for the boy, but the birth of the girl is very happy. At home, the baby was met by older sisters.

Doctors note that natural childbirth with such a weight of the child requires special control. Doctors should closely monitor the condition of the mother and fetus, since the birth of a large baby is associated with additional risks.

Violetta Kagan, Deputy Chief Physician of OKB No. 3 for Obstetrics and Gynecology, stressed that the appearance of a child weighing more than five kilograms naturally poses a serious challenge for the medical team.

According to the medical institution, the condition of the mother and newborn after childbirth was assessed as satisfactory. Recovery took place without complications.
