In the case of stealing money from a sleeper sentenced in the Tver region

The criminal case against a citizen accused of committing theft from a bank account was considered by the Konakovo city court, the press service of the judicial body reported.

It was established that the defendant, being in a drunken state, took advantage of the fact that his acquaintance fell asleep, took the mobile phone of a friend and transferred money from the victim’s bank account to his card.

The defendant fully admitted his guilt during the trial. The press service of the court indicated that the defendant fully compensated material damage to the victim and contributed to the investigation of the crime.

Taking into account the circumstances of the case, the citizen was found guilty of committing a crime under paragraph "d" of part of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of R. He was sentenced to a year and a half of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period of one year and the imposition of duties on the convicted person. The sentence has entered into force.
