You can see the legendary T-34-85 and modern equipment, disassemble the machine and learn more about military professions at the Victory Park on September 13, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.
The event is timed to the Day of Tankers - a holiday of servicemen of tank troops, veterans and tank builders. It is celebrated annually on the second Sunday of September.
The main hero of the exhibition was the T-34-85. Such machines in 1944 participated in the liberation of the capital of Belarus during the offensive operation "Bagration". On the night of July 3, Soviet tanks broke into the occupied city. Among them was the legendary crew car of the Guards junior lieutenant Dmitry Frolikov. Acting rapidly, the tankers suppressed enemy firing points and destroyed the enemy barrier. At about 2:30 a.m., a historic report was made by radio that Frolikov’s crew had successfully entered Minsk.

Nearby you could see the post-war T-72B and T-72B3. Using the example of these machines, they explained how weapons, protection and fire control systems changed.

- If we talk about the tip, then on the T-34-85 it was mechanical. The gunner performed all the actions manually, he had to independently calculate and adjust the position of the gun. In modern tanks, electronic assistants have appeared, which can significantly reduce the time of fire and improve accuracy, said Lieutenant Maxim Belogub.
According to the soldier, the improvement of equipment was not only at the expense of the gun itself. The sighting systems, control and protection systems have changed. More modern modification of the T-72B3 was the result of further development of the tank.
Also, visitors were able to see the tractor MZKT-741501, the armored reconnaissance and patrol vehicle "Caiman", an armored personnel carrier, the mortar complex "Sani" and other samples.
- I’ve only seen this technique in photos and on TV, so I decided to come and watch it live. It is especially interesting to compare the T-34 with modern machines. At first glance, they are very different, but when you start listening to specialists, you understand how much has changed during this time, said Olga.
The sites were presented by various faculties of the Military Academy. Cadets of the aviation faculty showed unmanned aerial vehicles. And on the territory of the Faculty of Military Intelligence, visitors were introduced to the Verba portable anti-aircraft missile system. The specialist said that MANPADS are designed for air defense, primarily to combat low-flying air targets. One of the options for its use is the launch from the shoulder of a fighter. Due to its mobility, the complex can be used directly by the unit in position or during displacement.

On the site of the Faculty of Communications and Automation, guests were shown various devices and explained how communication tools changed - from classic field phones to modern digital complexes. Cadets and graduates work with the famous classical technique, and with modern protected complexes. Among the field vehicles is the legendary TA-57, a reliable military field phone in a bakelite hull that works without batteries over a wire. The more modern TA-88 is lighter and can mate with radio stations, and digital devices like the TA-11 look like old ones, but inside are completely digital: encrypt voice and transmit data via IP networks.

It was possible to communicate with future officers at the site of the Minsk Suvorov Military School. Students talked about their studies and answered questions. Here, visitors were offered to try to disassemble and assemble the Kalashnikov assault rifle. The instructors first showed the sequence of actions, after which those who wished could repeat.

- At one time, I disassembled the machine many times, so I decided to try again - my hands remembered what was going on. It is nice that here you can not just look, but do something yourself, – shared his impressions Minsk resident Andrei.
A separate part of the program was prepared for children. While adults considered the technique and communicated with specialists, young guests could play mini-hockey and football, as well as participate in master classes. Many came to the holiday with the whole family. Among the guests are Minsk Anna, her husband Anton and little daughter Varvara.

- His husband is interested in military equipment, so he wanted to review everything and listen to experts. And Barbara still prefers master classes and games. But she is already paying attention to big cars, asking what they are and what they are for. I think this is a good way for a child to get acquainted with such a topic not from pictures, but live, Anna said.
