In the daytime department of the Social Service Center of the Kalinin district of Gorlovka, elderly people and people with disabilities meet in creative classes. Participants try different types of needlework: create works in decoupage and patchwork techniques, fold modular origami and make applications.
Here, everyone chooses an occupation to their liking and works at their own pace. Under the guidance of specialists, postcards, jewelry, compositions and panels are obtained from the usual materials. At a common table, participants share experiences, communicate and support each other.
Handwork helps to train fine motor skills and concentration, maintain the activity of the hands and thinking. And the opportunity to create something with your own hands brings joy and helps to distract from everyday worries.
Classes are held within the framework of the federal project “Older Generation” of the national project “Family” and the regional program “Active Longevity”.
