In Istra since the beginning of 2026 caught 232 homeless dogs

Since January 2026, 232 stray dogs have been caught in the Istra district. The work is carried out according to the principle of SAHV - capture, sterilization, vaccination, return: animals are taken to a shelter, quarantined, treated against parasites, vaccinated, chipped and sterilized. Healthy and non-aggressive dogs are returned to where they were caught.

The district administration warns that spreading poison is inhumane and dangerous for pets and people, especially children, for this there is administrative and criminal liability.
