This year, even more applicants from Karelia decided to take advantage of the possibility of targeted admission. As explained in the regional Ministry of Education, this format of training provides students with a free profession and a guaranteed job after graduation. Statistics show a significant increase: while last year 284 contracts were signed, in the current admission campaign their number reached 485.
More than half of the target students (257 people) entered secondary vocational education institutions. The leading specialty here remains medicine - 185 students went to study. Also in demand are working professions: training of auto mechanics, electricians, seamstresses, specialists of the agro-industrial complex and operators of paper production.
In universities in target areas enrolled 228 people. The vast majority of them (199 students) chose medical specialties through the regional Ministry of Health. In addition, applicants actively entered the areas related to pedagogy, forestry, veterinary medicine and the study of aquatic biological resources.
