In Kazan earned a new airport terminal

The international airport of the capital of Tatarstan has started operation of the new terminal B, writes Tatar-inform.

During the test run, Rustam Minnikhanov personally inspected the infrastructure: from check-in counters to gates. The head of RT paid special attention to waiting areas and catering, emphasizing the importance of maintaining impeccable order in passenger terminals.

At the current stage, the facility is operating in commissioning mode. The first carrier to start passenger service in the new building was UVT Aero. The gradual transfer of flights will allow specialists to debug all technological processes without failures.

The construction of the terminal was a response to the congestion of the old sector: with a design capacity of 2.5 million people, it served more than 5 million passengers annually. The new complex with an area of 38 thousand square meters is capable of receiving up to 5.7 million people per year, passing up to 1.5 thousand passengers per hour.

The terminal’s infrastructure includes 32 check-in counters, 9 security lines and 9 boarding exits (including airways). For the comfort of travelers, there are business lounges, family areas and an automated luggage system. The airport has added 350 new employees. The project was implemented as part of the long-term master plan for the development of the air hub until 2050, developed with the participation of international experts from NACO Royal HaskoningDHV.
