In the KCR, the court annulled the marriage, which “spouses did not know”

The Malokarachayevsky District Court of Karachay-Cherkessia declared invalid the marriage between S. and A. registered on November 25, 2021. The claim of the deputy district prosecutor was fully satisfied - the basis was the fictitiousness of the marriage. This was reported in the joint press service of the courts of the Republic.

According to the materials of the case, an unidentified employee of the registry office, who performs organizational and administrative functions, out of self-interest, entered into the register false information about marriage without the mutual voluntary consent of S. and A. In other words, the “spouses” learned about their status after the fact.

The court ordered the registry office for Malokarachayevsky district to cancel the record of the act of marriage and collected from each of the defendants a state fee of 1500 rubles to the municipal budget.

The reason for the proceedings was a check on the received information. On July 20, 2026, the investigative department of the SU IC for the Karachay-Cherkess Republic opened a criminal case under the article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on official forgery.

The decision has not yet entered into force: the parties and third parties have the opportunity to appeal it in an appeal.
