Governor Stanislav Voskresensky during his visit to the city discussed with the authorities and contractors how the construction of the drainage system is progressing. The project is not easy: initially there were difficulties with funding, but thanks to support at the federal level, it was possible to get the missing funds and return to systematic work.
Now the main sewer is being laid as part of the Water of Russia project - its length will be 27.5 km, 8 pumping stations will also be built. 1.2 km of pipeline and 13 wells are already ready. In parallel, other important works are underway in the city: the reconstruction of networks on Zhelyabov Street has almost been completed (about 200 meters out of 1.3 km remained), and 1 km of heating networks have been updated on Socialist Street.
Today, outdated local treatment plants operate in Kineshma and Navoloky – equipment wear reaches 85%, which is why wastewater cannot be treated properly. The new stage of construction will allow to unite disparate networks, decommission old facilities and thereby increase the reliability of the system and reduce the load on the Volga. Previously, the region has already built a modern complex of treatment plants and a collector that connected the two cities, and now the turn for the main collector – it will become a key link in the updated infrastructure.
