In Komi, the number of foreign citizens decreased
The decrease is associated with the tightening of migration rules.

There were fewer migrants in Komi: on October 1, 2026, 3,361 foreign citizens were in the republic against 4,091 a year earlier. The decrease is associated with the tightening of migration rules, the growth of state duties and increased control.
According to the Komi Interior Ministry, the majority of foreigners came from Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, and 77% of migrants arrived to work. About two thousand citizens of other countries work in the region, mainly in construction.
Russian citizenship has also become less common. During the nine months of 2026, 189 people purchased it, while for the same period last year - 349. Among the new requirements is the provision of a criminal record from the country of citizenship.
In addition, in recent years, the number of revoked labor patents has increased: 129 documents were declared invalid, mainly due to the lack of results of repeated medical examinations.
