In Kostroma sentenced a former merchandiseman shop “Magnit” for the appropriation of tobacco

The Sverdlovsk district court put an end to the case of a smoker-sun. In the dock was a 46-year-old merchandiseman of one of the Kostroma stores “Magnit”.

As it turned out during the trial, the man worked in the store for several months before he began to “take out” the goods directly from the window. Since September 2025, he regularly took packs of expensive cigarettes to smoke them. He did not sell the stolen goods, everything went into personal consumption. For six months, there was a shortage of more than 7 thousand rubles.

When it came time to count the remains in January, the tradesman tried to cover his tracks by forging an inventory deed. However, the security service revealed the scheme in March.

In court, the man repented and referred to a difficult financial situation. The damage to the company he returned completely. However, the court decided that correctional labor is the most appropriate punishment.

A suspended sentence was not given to the former employee of Magnit: the judge considered that for systematic theft under the cover of a position, you need to answer with real punishment.
