The Small Academy of Sciences of schoolchildren of Crimea “Seeker” is working on the development of research skills in children and adolescents and interacts with scientific and educational centers of the region. This was reported on the air of the TV channel “Crimea 24” by the executive director of the organization Marina Kichizhyeva.

According to her, the Academy has its own resource center. In it, schoolchildren are engaged in scientific activities under the guidance of employees of the Crimean Federal University named after V. I. Vernadsky. For the implementation of their projects, children use the laboratories of the university.

Support for young researchers is also provided by the Agricultural Institute and the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory.

The age of participants varies from junior to senior grades. Many graduates after graduation continue their activities in the Academy, becoming mentors for a new generation of researchers.

In the children's public organization "Small Academy of Sciences of schoolchildren" practice different formats of work - this causes students' interest in serious scientific fields. Such activities take students away from simply memorizing theory: they conduct experiments, work with mentors and defend their own projects.

Among Crimean schoolchildren, robotics and computer science are in greatest demand. The motivation of students depends on their age. Younger parents are usually guided by the demands of the labor market. Teenagers choose these disciplines themselves.
