In the Kursk region for the season ticks sucked to 2039 residents of the region

As of October 28, 2,039 people applied to medical institutions of the Kursk region with complaints of tick bites. Among the victims were 739 children under the age of 14. This figure is 5.3% lower than for the same period in 2025, when 2,152 appeals were recorded, including 945 cases among children, statistics in the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor reported.

“According to information from the victims, most often tick attacks occurred in the adjoining territories, suburban areas, as well as in natural biotopes – forests and forest park zones,” the ministry said.

For the current season of 2026, 52 cases of ixodic tick-borne borreliosis (Lyme disease) have been reported in the region. For comparison, a year earlier, 66 cases of ICD were identified in the same period, and 80 cases in 2025.
