In Kuzbass, the idea of coal transportation along the Tom River is being worked out

The Governor of the Kemerovo region Ilya Seredyuk, visiting the Russian energy week — 2026, shared information that the regional authorities are studying new approaches to the organization of coal exports in order to optimize logistics costs, according to RBC.

According to the head of Kuzbass, the opening of the waterway from Jurga through the Ob with access to the port of Sabetta can make coal exports more real. Seredyuk said that transportation of one ton of coal through the border point with China costs four thousand rubles, including delivery to the final recipient. At the same time, the route through Sabetta is estimated at 6.9 thousand rubles per ton, and the route through the Far Eastern ports is 6.7 thousand rubles.

The governor stressed that the revision of logistics schemes has become an urgent need against the background of increased costs associated with transportation and production.
