On October 14, in the Leningrad region, the solemn opening of traffic along the reconstructed sections of the federal highways A-181 Scandinavia and R-23 Pskov took place. The ceremony was held in the format of a teleconference with the fields of the specialized exhibition “Road 2026”, which was joined by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin, Transport Minister Andrei Nikitin, Leningrad Governor Alexander Drozdenko and other officials.
On the highway “Scandinavia” completed the seventh stage of reconstruction – updated 4-kilometer section from Goncharovo to bypass Vyborg. On the route R-23 "Pskov", leading to the border with Belarus, overhauled 16-kilometer segment (from 81 to 97 km). The main feature of the work here is the expansion of the canvas from two to four lanes, which will increase the capacity of the road twice.
The infrastructure of the R-23 section was completely rebuilt: barrier fences, a dividing strip, three reversal loops were installed instead of dangerous left turns. Also installed energy-efficient lighting, nine traffic lights, 12 modern stops with tactile tiles, weight and video control systems. For the safety of residents of adjacent settlements built 6 km of sidewalks and noise screens.
