The press service of the registry office of the Leningrad region told what names in 2026 gave their newborn parents. Among the rare names are Hamlet, Monte, Bartolomeo, Ophelia and Fantasia. New residents of the region were also registered - Kuzma, Lazar, Spiridon, Aksinya, Efrosinya and Lida.

The most popular names of the boys were Michael, Alexander and Timothy. And the girls were most often called Sophia, Annas and Vasilises.

Exactly 100 years ago, in 1926, there was no such diversity in names. Parents often chose the names Maria and Nikolai for their babies.

Earlier, MK in Leningrad region told what name the family from Tosnensky district gave to their seventh child.
