In Lyakhovichi district, workers of consumer cooperation joined the republican action “Give the forest new zhyzzo!”

Today, on October 17, the traditional autumn campaign for the restoration of forests “Give the forest a new zhyzzo!” started throughout Belarus. During the week until October 24, thousands of concerned citizens, representatives of labor collectives and public organizations will come out to the plots to help foresters increase the main natural wealth of the country. As previously noted in the Ministry of Forestry, the key goal of the initiative is to form a careful attitude to forest resources among the population, and the main front of work is planned in areas affected by hurricane winds and drying.

Since the morning, work has been boiling in the Brest region. One of the points of attraction of volunteers on the map of the region was Kurshinovichi forestry Lyakhovichi forestry. Together with foresters today, a friendly landing team of employees of the Lyakhovichi district consumer society works here to supplement forest crops. Having replaced the usual jobs in the field of trade with forest spaces, the co-operators armed themselves with Kolesov’s swords and pine seedlings.

The forestry institution prepared the front of works in advance, provided volunteers with all the necessary planting material and equipment, and the forester of the Kurshinovichi forestry Petr Shadura conducted a detailed briefing on the spot. After all, every detail is important in this matter: from the correct depth of the hole to the tight pressing of the root system, so that young trees are guaranteed to grow.

- Forests and people are our greatest wealth. Therefore, reforestation and supplementation of forest crops remain priorities for each autumn. When the appeal of the forestry farm responds to the labor collectives of our district, among which the workers of the Lyakhovichsky raypo have been participating for many years, the work is argued many times faster. It is encouraging to see that people come here not for a tick, but for the call of the heart. Having planted at least a few dozen seedlings with his own hands, a person already looks at the forest completely differently, appreciates the hard work of foresters and understands that he leaves behind a living green trail for future generations. In general, this autumn we plan to supplement forest crops on an area of 170 hectares.

Leading economist of Lyakhovichi raypo Anna Gurskaya participates in forest planting for the third time and is sure that it is simply impossible to stay away from such important environmental initiatives:

- For our team, participation in planting the forest has already become a good tradition. In the daily hustle and bustle, we rarely think about how much work has been put into making beautiful pine forests and birch groves noise around. And here, in the fresh air, looking at the smooth rows of tiny seedlings, you feel special pride. We are doing common important work for our native Lyakhovichy, Brest region and the whole of Belarus. I really want to come here to Kurshinovichi in ten years together with relatives and friends and proudly say: “Look, we helped plant this young forest!”

The work is physically difficult, but after desk work you perceive it as an excellent exercise, and this fatigue is pleasant. We were met perfectly, the forester immediately showed the technology, so the process was set up quickly: one makes a hole, the second carefully lowers the seedling. I believe that every real landlord should plant not one tree, but a whole patch of forest. The forest is clean air, mushroom and berry places, and an important economic resource of the state. To restore and increase it is our common civic duty.

Representatives of the Ministry of Information and the media planted about 13 thousand seedlings as part of the action “Give the forest a new zhyzzo!”
