In Mednogorsk, the fourth year can not fix the lighting in the center after reconstruction for hundreds of millions

In recent years, these territories have undergone large-scale reconstruction for budget funds. In 2021, 5.53 million rubles were allocated for the preparation of design estimates for the station square, Lenin and Soviet streets. In 2022, about 140 million rubles were spent on the improvement of these territories. In 2023, another 23.76 million rubles were added to additional work in the area of the station square. And in 2025, 130.455 million rubles were allocated for the reconstruction of Lenin Square and Sovetskaya Street, of which more than 98 million were federal budget funds. That is, hundreds of millions have been invested in improvement, but questions remain for customers and contractors, Orenday notes.

What the prosecutor's office says. The supervisory authority has already recorded problems with lighting in Mednogorsk. According to the prosecutor's office, the lighting was restored at the station square, but in the park on Lenin Street and partially on the street of the Soviet outdoor lighting and video surveillance system are defective, and Wi-Fi does not work. Representations were made to the head of the city and the contractor, the issue of bringing responsible persons to administrative responsibility is being resolved.

There are two important points. The first is the contrast between the investment and the result: hundreds of millions of rubles were spent on reconstruction, but lighting, video surveillance and Wi-Fi do not work. This is not a “lack of funding” but a question of the quality of work and how the facilities were accepted. The second is safety: unlit alleys and the square in the dark are not just an inconvenience, but a real risk for pedestrians. And most tellingly, for the problem to begin to solve, it took the intervention of the prosecutor's office. Residents hope full coverage will be restored before warranty deadlines expire, but the issue is now in its fourth year.

And do you think that contractors who have made such defects should eliminate them at their own expense, or the responsibility lies with the customer who accepted the work?
