Minsk honors active citizens who contribute to the development of the capital

The solemn ceremony of awarding persons who have made a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of Minsk, and Minsk residents who take an active part in the protection of public law and order and the prevention of offenses, was held in the city hall on September 9. Also, the awards were presented by the Chairman of the Minsk City Council Artem Tsuran, the Prosecutor of Minsk Oleg Lavrukhin and the head of the Mingory Executive Committee Mikhail Grib.

For several years, the director of secondary school No. 43 of the Zavodsk district, Julia Dzerzhitskaya, has headed the Council of Public Law Enforcement Point No. 110. Her award is for her active participation in the protection of public order, a significant contribution to the prevention of offenses.

- Our social activities are aimed at making life easier and calmer for citizens. If a person has a difficult life situation, he can apply, and we will help within our competences. They come with different questions. An elderly person was sent to receive medical care. Helping people get jobs. They even acted as peacemakers in families, helping spouses to hear each other. Vladimir Kotlyar is 90 years old. By profession, he was an energy engineer, in the 50s of the last century he was engaged in electrification of the BSSR. Later he taught electrical engineering special disciplines. In the 1970s he worked in the Far North, then returned to his native Minsk.

- I am now actively working on improving my yard. Together with other enthusiasts, we put in order the entrance groups to the entrances, break flower beds and flower beds. Near my house grows 25 fruit trees: apple trees, pears, peaches, apricots, grapes - for neighbors and everyone.
