Colds are most common in children, said RIA Novosti Minister of health of Russia Mikhail Murashko. He stressed the importance of timely vaccination to protect children and adults during epidemic season.

According to the head of the Ministry of Health, vaccinations help reduce health risks and avoid missing school classes. The Minister also drew attention to the numerous contacts of children, because of which infections can spread among their loved ones.

“If the child is healthy, it will also be much easier for the family to go through this season,” Murashko said.

Earlier, Rospotrebnadzor reported that over the past week in Russia registered more than 635 thousand cases of SARS, influenza and coronavirus infection. Among circulating respiratory viruses, 96.6% were viruses of non-influenza origin.
