The main magnet for travelers, guests of the area remains the republican landscape reserve "Yelnya". The eponymous swamp is one of the largest in Europe, its age is about 13,000 years. However, for a long time the visiting card of the region remained without proper infrastructure. As noted in the Miorsky District Executive Committee: Yelnya a year ago and Yelnya now are two completely different objects. Thanks to serious preparations for Dazhynka, the approach to ecotourism here has reached a new level. To the reserve paved kilometers of quality asphalt instead of the former broken gravel. At the entrances, a spacious platform for vehicles was equipped, arbors, shopping rows were installed ... The result exceeded expectations: the flow of guests increased significantly. On some weekends, more than 500 people come to admire the pristine nature of Yelni, and this, apparently, is only the beginning.
However, the pristine beauty of the Belarusian swamp is not the only point of attraction on the map of the Miorsky district. There are also other interesting locations. Among them is a picturesque waterfall on the Vyata River. The object was created by man: once there was a paper manufactory, then a mill and even a power plant. Miraculously surviving centuries-old stone structures and a two-meter water cascade have a powerful tourist potential, noted in the Miorsky district executive committee:
- To breathe new life into this place helped the initiative of LLC "Metal rolling company", with the support of which the surrounding area was landscaped. There appeared comfortable places for rest, interesting locations.
The plans of the district authorities are to link Yelnya, the waterfall “with history” on the Vyata River, architectural monuments and local churches (religious tourism is actively developing in the area) into a single looped route. The main task of the ambitious project is not just to show tourists the beauty of the Miorsky district, but also to competently monetize this flow, directing funds to further develop the infrastructure of the cozy Belarusian town. A new format of business tourism was launched in Minsk – a quiz on Belarusian culture was tested by a pharmaceutical company from the Russian Federation
