Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Government of Moscow Peter Biryukov said that since the beginning of 2026, 2.5 million water quality tests have been conducted in the Russian capital.
“Currently, the state of the capital’s water is analyzed by the maximum number of physicochemical and biological indicators – a total of 200,” said Biryukov.
Since the beginning of this year, 2.5 million different studies have been conducted, once again confirming the compliance of water entering the taps of Muscovites with all standards and requirements.
The Russian capital consumes almost 3 million cubic meters of water daily. Moscow has 13,000 kilometers of water supply networks, and this complex system needs constant monitoring and, if necessary, prompt adjustment of parameters.
It is noted that the quality of water is controlled throughout its movement, namely at the water source, water treatment stations and in the distribution network. The devices track changes in the main indicators of water composition around the clock, data from the analyzers are fed into a single information system, with the help of which specialists can quickly make a decision on changing technological treatment regimes.
In addition to laboratory studies, more than 600 automatic monitoring devices help monitor water quality in real time, the results of which are transmitted to the social and hygienic monitoring system of the capital.
