The interior Ministry urges Belarusians to use flickers in connection with the reduction of daylight

At night, people without reflective elements become almost invisible to drivers, which increases the risk of accidents. Flickers remain one of the easiest and most effective ways to prevent a tragedy, the correspondent of the agency “Minsk-Novosti” with reference to the interior Ministry.

A pedestrian or cyclist, illuminated by an approaching car, becomes visible only for 25-30 m. At a speed of 90 km / h, the car overcomes this distance in a second. Even if the speed of the car is 50 km / h, the stopping distance exceeds the specified distance.

Using flickers is an effective way to improve road safety. It is important to wear these items correctly: they should be visible from all sides. The tape is fixed on the sleeve or trousers, the suspension - on clothes, briefcase or bag. Use two or more flickers at the same time. Their color should be white, lemon or yellow.
