With the support of the NAO Department of Health, a series of preventive health lectures for residents continues in the city.
On October 22, an educational seminar “Safe use of medicines” was held in the assembly hall of the administration. It was conducted by the paramedic of the Center for Public Health and Medical Prevention of the Center for Health Irina Bakhareva.
The lecturer spoke about common myths and misconceptions associated with drugs. Separately, she focused on antibiotics, stressing that with SARS and other viral infections, such drugs do not help, and their independent use can harm.
Irina Bakhareva explained the basic rules of taking medications. In particular, how important it is to comply with the prescribed dosage, the intervals between doses and the duration of treatment. If you take several medications at the same time, ask a specialist how to combine them.
Equally important is the proper storage of medicines. They should be kept in an inaccessible place for children, observe the storage conditions specified in the instructions, as well as monitor the shelf life.
As a result of the meeting, the participants learned the basic rule of safe use of medicines: know, check and ask. It is important to know what drug you are taking, check the dosage, packaging and expiration date, and if something is unclear, consult a doctor.
