In the Nizhny Novgorod region sentenced for a fatal accident on Bor

The court sentenced the driver of a foreign car in the case of an accident on Bor, in which the master of sports in motor sports Dmitry Ruzhev died. This is reported by the press service of the regional court.

The accident occurred on August 14, 2025 on the Steklozavodskoye highway: a 72-year-old man driving a Hyundai Tucson did not give way to a motorcycle when turning left, the vehicles collided, and the biker died on the spot. Later it turned out that the deceased was 36-year-old Dmitry Ruzhev. In fact, the accident opened a criminal case on traffic violation, which entailed the death of a person by negligence.

The court sentenced the driver of a foreign car to two years of suspended imprisonment with a probation period of two years and deprived him of the right to engage in activities related to transport management for 1.5 years. In addition, from the convicted in favor of the relatives of the deceased recovered compensation for moral damage in the amount of more than 3 million rubles.
