In Nizhny Novgorod are preparing to eliminate a dangerous pond-storage of sour tars on the Moscow highway. To begin environmental clean-up, the city authorities intend to change the purpose of the site in the General Plan and the Rules of Land Use and Development - the relevant draft amendments have already been submitted for public discussion.

The facility is located on the 21st kilometer of the Moscow highway, next to the garden partnership "Birch floodplain No. 3". Now this territory is included in the zone of collective gardens and cottages, but for the work it is required to be transferred to the industrial and communal zone of I-II hazard class.

Public discussions will last until October 19 inclusive.
