In Nizhny Novgorod and Pochinkovo district, the rivers received a “residence permit”

The rivers Big Atma and Ladka, flowing in the Pochinkovo district, for the first time received an official “residence permit” – they were included in the State catalog of geographical names. This was reported in the regional office of Rosreestr: until now, water bodies in the register were not listed.

Both rivers are tributaries of Insar, which flows through the Nizhny Novgorod region and Mordovia. The source of Ladki is located near the village of Yagodny.

The names of experts found in the study of paper and digital topographic maps: the geographical objects themselves have existed for a long time, but their names were not included in the catalog. As explained by the Deputy head of Rosreestr Department for the Nizhny Novgorod region Maxim Paikov, registration will increase the accuracy of cartographic data and ensure uniform use of names. This is especially important for rivers that cross several regions: accurate information about tributaries helps to correctly identify water bodies on maps.
