In Nizhny Novgorod held the first economic forum with 600 participants

The Nizhny Novgorod region should actively promote its interests abroad, despite sanctions and difficulties with calculations, logistics and personnel. Governor Gleb Nikitin said this at the first Nizhny Novgorod Economic Forum, which brought together more than 600 participants from 20+ countries.
According to the head of the region, problems require solutions, not excuses: if you stop supporting exports and look for partners, others will take a place in the markets. Nikitin noted the symbolism of the forum on the eve of the National Unity Day, a force, in his opinion, in uniting the efforts of the regions, including in the international arena.
The results speak for themselves: the region’s exports grew by 5.8% in 2025, and most Nizhny Novgorod companies reoriented supply chains to new markets. The region develops centers of business activity abroad on the basis of local partners - the first experience was obtained in India, now China, Uzbekistan, the UAE and Brazil are being worked out. Partial localization of production is also being studied; partners are invited to the region - the expansion of the Kulibin SEZ at the site on Bor opens up new opportunities for enterprises.
The Governor thanked the ambassadors, foreign guests and Russian partners for the productive dialogue, and the organizers and sponsors for their faith in the first forum. He expects to hold the next one in a two-day format: there are many requests for joint work.
