In Noginsk, a large-scale restoration of the object of cultural heritage continues - the so-called Morozov barracks, located at 13 Ilyich Street. This unique architectural monument of the middle of the XIX century, built in 1840, once served as a home for workers of the famous Glukhov Manufactory.
Today, more than 30 specialists work on the site. The main efforts of restorers are focused on the restoration of brickwork, the repair of window elements and staircases, as well as the renovation of the roof. It is important to note that earlier the building has already been upgraded utilities – power supply and heating system. All works are carried out with strict observance of the norms of preserving the historical appearance of the object. It is planned that the overhaul will be completed before December of this year.
The building on Ilyich Street, 13 is a living witness to the industrial heyday of Bogorodsk (as Noginsk was called until 1930). Morozov Barracks was built in 1840 to accommodate employees of the Glukhov Manufactory, one of the largest textile enterprises of the Russian Empire, founded in 1797 by Savva Morozov.
The architecture of the building is typical for industrial dormitories of the time: massive brickwork, strict forms and functionality. Today, the Morozov Barracks is a valuable city-forming element, reminiscent of the contribution of the Morozov dynasty to the development of not only Noginsk, but also the entire textile industry of Russia. The restoration of this facility is an important step in preserving the industrial heritage of the Moscow region for future generations.
