In the Novgorod region checked the readiness for winter maintenance tracks

In the Novgorod region, preparations for the winter maintenance of roads are being completed. This was reported by the specialists of GOKU “Novgorodavtodor”, who, together with the employees of the traffic police and municipal administrations, checked the readiness of contractors to work in the cold period.

Experts assessed the technical condition of road equipment and the volume of stocks of necessary materials at the production bases of the companies responsible for the maintenance of roads.

Now the contractors are completing preparatory activities: forming stocks of anti-icing materials and switching to an enhanced mode of operation - round-the-clock duty and regular patrols of fixed areas. Road services have at their disposal 235 units of specialized equipment, 156 thousand tons of sand salt mixture and 39 thousand tons of sand.

Since October 15, the winter period of detention has officially started on regional roads. To quickly respond to the deterioration of weather conditions and timely elimination of slipperiness, the equipment is placed in heated parking boxes - this allows you to quickly use it at any time of the day.

The key conditions for traffic safety in winter are technical serviceability of cars, sufficient supplies of materials and constant monitoring of the road situation.

Road services draw the attention of drivers: in the night and morning hours, the temperature can drop to zero and below, creating a risk of ice formation. Car owners are advised not to postpone the replacement of summer tires for winter and take into account weather conditions when planning trips.
