In Novocherkassk because of the stop trams for the third time opened a criminal case

In Novocherkassk again opened a criminal case because of the stop tram traffic. The Russian Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal investigation into the matter for the third time.

In 2025, routes No. 1 and No. 3 were suspended. Currently only Route 2 is in operation. Due to the lack of rolling stock, the number of trams produced was reduced to two cars. Then criminal cases were opened twice, but later the decisions were noted.

Closed routes were replaced by bus lines, but this did not solve the problem. Residents continue to complain about the accessibility and environmental situation in the city.

In August 2026, the head of the city administration Pavel Isakov noted the complexity of the situation with tram traffic. According to him, the city authorities are actively looking for ways to save the tram network, but face more problems than ready-made solutions.

But until now, the solution to the problem has not been found.
