In Orel, the court sentenced the accomplice of telephone fraudsters

In Orel, the Northern District Court sentenced a local resident for aiding fraudsters. More about the incident was told in the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.

It all happened in August 2024. The man issued four bank cards in his name and gave them to accomplices along with access to accounts. In September, these cards were used for crime. Attackers deceived Orlovets and forced him to transfer more than 1.5 million rubles to other accounts.

The court found the man guilty under Part 5 of Art. 33, Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Given the remorse and full admission of guilt, he was sentenced to 4 years of probation with a probation period of 4 years. In respect of other persons involved in the crime, criminal prosecution is carried out separately.
