Orel schoolchildren collect acorns to save the forest. In the autumn marathon of reforestation students from different regions of the region actively participate.

According to the press service of the government of the Orel region, recently children from the Sakhzavodsk, Sosnovskaya and Ekaterinovsky schools of the Livensky district collected 85 kilograms of acorns. Earlier in this case, students of Khotkovskaya secondary school named after N.A. Volodin from Shablykinsky district helped. Educational institutions of Bolkhov transferred 613 kilograms of acorns to forestry. Teachers of the Bolshoi-Sotnikovsky secondary school from the Uritsky district handed over 80 kilograms of cherry oak seeds.

As noted in the regional forest management, currently in Orel region favorable conditions for the collection of acorns, which later will become planting material for future oak trees.
