In Penza, the Director of the Criminal Code received a suspended sentence because of the ice that injured a teenager

The head of the management company in Penza was sentenced in the case of trauma to a minor fell from the roof of the ice. He was found guilty under paragraph 2 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - the provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health of consumers, which by negligence caused serious harm to human health.

The investigation and the court established that from January 27 to March 3, 2026, the director of the Criminal Code knew that snow, ice and icicles had accumulated on the roof of the house on Suvorov Street. Their spontaneous gathering created a real threat to people, but he did not organize regular cleaning of the roof of the apartment building. As a result of improper maintenance of common property on March 3, 2026, snow and ice masses uncontrollably fell from the roof on a 17-year-old boy who was walking on a pedestrian sidewalk. The victim received a head injury qualified as serious harm to health.

During the investigation and trial, the accused was under house arrest. The court appointed him 3 years of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period of 2 years 6 months.
