In Petrozavodsk opened an exhibition of cultural heritage of Zaretsk Trinity cemetery
In the capital of Karelia, an exposition dedicated to the historical and cultural significance of the Trinity cemetery in Zaretsky district was presented

The opening of the exposition dedicated to one of the oldest cemeteries of Petrozavodsk was held on October 22 in the building where the Center for the Protection of the Cultural Heritage of Karelia is located.
The stands acquaint visitors with the appearance of the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross, memorials of the Red Army soldiers who fell in 1939-1940, and places of memory of victims during the years of repression (1937-1938). Particular attention is paid to eight burials of iconic personalities of the region, including sculptor Yurye Rautanen, artist Peter Chaplygin and participant of the Civil War Ivan Korshunov.
A separate block of the exposition highlights the achievements of the initiative “Zaretsk necropolis: preserving memory – preserving history”. The goal of the project is to protect historical heritage sites from destruction.
