The Petrozavodsk Library is preparing for major changes: the institution became one of the winners of the federal competition of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. In 2027, thanks to the support of the national project “Family”, a modern model space will be created here.
As explained by the head of the Centralized library system Julia Nesterova, the project was called “Literary Boulevard”. The main emphasis will be on patriotic education and the study of local history – October Prospect. This theme will be traced both in interior solutions and in the general design of the halls.
Particular attention will be paid to the legacy of Dmitry Gusarov. The museum room dedicated to the writer will be transformed: the exhibits will be distributed throughout the library, adapting some of the materials for young readers, and some for an adult audience. The library will become a multifunctional cultural center.
Recall that Petrozavodsk already has a successful experience of modernization: The Central City Children's Library named after V.M. Danilov after the renovation became one of the best in the country. The victory in the practice competition provided her with funding for the purchase of studio equipment for video shooting and replenishment of book shelves.
