Today in the Union of women of Karelia decided to abandon banal postcards and bouquets. Activists proposed to create an online museum of things in which mother's warmth lives.
The cup my mother uses to drink tea every morning.
A scarf that smells like home.
Old box.
Favorite toy from childhood.
Even a small button or a worn cookbook—anything that holds memories—will become a valuable exponent.
How do you become part of our museum? It's simple:
Find something that reminds you of your mother. Even if it is something very small, the main thing is that it is dear to your heart.
Take a cozy photo: on the table, on the windowsill, at the window. Let it be at home, without excessive staging.
Write a couple of warm words: what kind of thing is it, why is it so important, whether there is a Karelian trace in its history (and if not - nothing terrible, sincerity is most important).
Post a photo with a history in your account and be sure to add the hashtags #Union of Women of Karelia and #Museum mother things - so we will definitely find you. Or just send a photo to our community's private messages.
Until November 29, we will publish your stories in the tape of the Karelian branch of the UJR, and the most interesting ones on the website of MK in Karelia. And on Mother’s Day, we will gather the final online exhibition and dedicate it to our mothers!
And yes, we are sure to choose the winners among the most touching stories, each of which is invaluable in its own way.
