Pyatigorsk hosted events dedicated to the 167th anniversary of the birth of Kosta Khetagurov, an outstanding poet, artist, publicist and public figure, the founder of modern Ossetian literature. This was reported by the head of the city Dmitry Voroshilov.
The fate of Kosta Khetagurov is inextricably linked with Pyatigorsk: here he lived, created, met his love. The city became his second home.
By good tradition, cultural figures, representatives of national and cultural communities, activists of creative associations, students, residents and guests of the resort gathered at the monument to the poet. Kosta Khetagurov’s poems, lines from his works and philosophical reflections sounded, which are still close to everyone who values justice, humanity and love for their native land.
“On this day we remember a man whose work unites the peoples of the Caucasus, teaches us friendship, dignity and respect for each other,” said Dmitry Voroshilov.
Earlier it was reported that in Ossetia died war veteran Pavel Kabulov.
