In Russia proposed to temporarily stop the issuance of licenses to private universities
The Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko made an initiative to appeal to the Russian government with a recommendation to suspend the licensing of private higher education institutions

The Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko made an initiative to appeal to the Russian government with a recommendation to suspend the licensing of private higher education institutions. In her opinion, first it is necessary to restore order in this area and clarify the legislative requirements for educational organizations.
The issue was discussed during the government hour in the Federation Council with the participation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov and the head of Rosobrnadzor Anzor Muzaev.
Matvienko drew attention to cases when organizations only imitate educational activities. As an example, she cited online ads promising to issue a license to open a university in five days, even in the absence of educational programs, necessary documents and suitable premises. According to the head of the Federation Council, the state should be responsible for the quality of education, regardless of the form of ownership of the educational institution.
In the Vladimir region, there are two private universities mentioned in connection with this topic: the Vladimir branch of the Russian University of Cooperation and the University of Future Technologies Technopolis, a branch of the TOP Academy.
