A competition dedicated to family sports tradition continues in Russia n

The Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation and the media group “Komsomolskaya Pravda” announced the start of accepting applications for the all-Russian online competition “The Most Sports Family of Russia”. The application can be submitted until October 18, 2026.

The competition includes seven nominations – six sports and one creative, covering a variety of family histories and life situations. Thus, the nomination “Young family in sports” is designed for spouses whose marriage lasts no more than three years and who have not yet become parents. In the application, it is important to demonstrate how joint sports have become a natural part of everyday life and help strengthen family relationships. This is reported by the website kp.ru.

For families with children, the nomination “Dad, Mom, I am a sports family” is provided: here the organizers emphasize the unifying power of the movement – whether it is participation in family competitions, joint skiing or the usual physical education classes.

Those families where sports traditions unite several generations at once, the category “Family team” is suitable. It can involve large families, in which children, parents, and grandparents are involved in active activities.

A separate focus of the competition is on support and inclusion. The Sport Without Borders nomination is for families where one or more members have limited health opportunities.

Another socially significant nomination is “The family is the support of the country”. It is intended for families where at least one of the parents is a participant or veteran of combat operations, including a special military operation, and has achieved success in sports.

Fans of an active lifestyle will be interested in the Family Route nomination: it is focused on families for whom travel and movement are an integral part of recreation and everyday life.

A special niche is occupied by the creative nomination “I imagine sports!”: it is proposed to express one’s attitude to family sports not through sports indicators, but through artistic forms – drawings, poems, songs, dances and other creative works.

To take part in the competition, the family should briefly tell about themselves, their sports hobbies, traditions and achievements, as well as attach links to photo or video materials or creative works, depending on the chosen nomination. The evaluation of applications will be carried out by the expert commission taking into account a number of parameters: compliance with the declared nomination, originality and creativity, the degree of involvement of all family members, the quality of the submitted materials, as well as compliance with the requirements provided for each category.

Ambassadors of the competition were famous Russian athletes - three-time Olympic champion in synchronized swimming Alla Shishkina and four-time Olympic champion in gymnastics Alexei Nemov.
