Rostov-on-Don has installed more than 800 containers for separate garbage collection since the beginning of 2026

Since the beginning of 2026, more than 800 containers have been installed in Rostov-on-Don for separate garbage collection. This was announced on October 20 at a meeting of the city Duma.
According to the Deputy head of the city administration for housing Stanislav Marchenko, in Rostov continue to equip sites for collecting solid municipal waste and eliminate unauthorized landfills.
By the end of 2026, the city plans to equip 214 landfills. Each of them will provide separate compartments for large-sized waste.
In addition, this year 479.6 million rubles were allocated for the export of construction waste, car tires and other waste.
Special attention is paid to the fight against the so-called “gray drivers”. Since last year, police officers, together with district administrations, have conducted raids. In 2026, 34 administrative protocols were drawn up.
Waste management requires a systematic approach. The City Council is ready to participate in these tasks. First of all, through parliamentary control and interaction with residents. I am sure that by joint efforts we will keep Rostov cozy and clean, said Lidia Novoseltseva, Chairman of the Rostov-on-Don City Duma.
Following the meeting, the deputies instructed the city administration to consider the possibility of identifying sites for garbage accumulation. The authorities should also work out additional ways to inform residents about the rules for storing large-sized waste.
