On the eve in Samara, a presentation of a new art object by the famous Russian artist Vladimir Logutov took place.
The sculpture will become the semantic center of the future square at the intersection of Moscow Highway and Lunacharsky Street. The event was held in the format of a symbolic “example” at the permanent installation site.
The official opening of the landscaped space is scheduled for a later date. The twisted metal rail will be included in the series of works “The Ruins of the Industrial”, reflecting on the industrial heritage of the region.
Local historian Andrei Artemov told the guests in detail about the importance of the art object for preserving historical memory.
Earlier in the quarter between the Moscow highway, Radonezhnaya, Michurina and Lunacharsky operated Lindovskaya railway. This transport artery connected the evacuated defense enterprises of Kuibyshev with the front in the forties of the last century.
Representatives of the development company stressed that the sculpture will become a new point of attraction for citizens. The works of Vladimir Logutov, a participant of two Venice Biennales, are kept in the Tretyakov Gallery and other prestigious museum collections.
His works fit organically into the concept of modern public space.
Commercial Director of the company Maria Ivanova shared an amazing story that happened on the eve of the event.
During construction work, workers found in the ground a real railway rail belonging to the same Lindowska road, reports Kommersant-Volga.
“This is a true historical discovery, literally lifted from the ground, and we believe it is a good sign,” the developer said.
