“Agriculture needs iron discipline”: Volfovich – at a meeting with students and teachers of SSAU

Secretary of State of the Security Council Alexander Wolfovich met with students and faculty of Grodno State Agrarian University. He got acquainted with the educational and material base of the university, the organization of the educational process, and also dwelled in detail on the topic of national security of our country. Before the start of the dialogue, Secretary of State Alexander Wolfovich got acquainted in detail with the achievements and specialties of each faculty, paying special attention to students presenting their type of activity and future profession.

- I was struck by how the eyes of third-year students and future graduates are burning, they are already living what they chose, said Alexander Wolfovich. They chose the profession consciously and understand who will work next. These are experts who will ensure the food security of our country tomorrow. These are future agronomists, zootechnics, veterinarians. The future of our country is in the development of agriculture. It is important for our state to receive not only a patriot of their country, but also a patriot of their profession. Agriculture requires an iron discipline, as in the army. Food security and confidence of Belarus in the future are in your hands.

Alexander Volfovich noted that Belarus is doing a lot for social support of agricultural workers. For example, rental housing is provided, and young specialists and agricultural workers are provided with incentive material payments.

- No other republic of the post-Soviet space treats young specialists of any profession as well as in our Belarus, Alexander Volfovich said.

The meeting continued in the assembly hall of the university, where Alexander Volfovich paid special attention to the topic of national security of our country. We discussed issues that children do not face in their daily lives: the military and political situation in Belarus and the current situation in other countries.

- We see what is happening in the world today, how threats to our national security are growing. More than 60 conflicts are taking place around the world. Therefore, we pay so much attention to the preparation of military units to fulfill their tasks. The President has repeatedly stressed that we are not attacking, but preparing to defend our country. Belarus is a peaceful country. We do not treat any people as an enemy and do everything possible to resolve conflicts, preserve peace and tranquility in the region, the speaker said.

- All my life I love numbers and calculations, so I chose a related profession. Economic security is very relevant in our country, every sector of the economy is interconnected. At the meeting, I learned a lot of new and interesting information for myself. As an agrarian university student, I am very pleased that the state pays special attention to the agro-industrial complex sector, supporting young specialists in their first workplace.

- It is a great honor for our educational institution to receive such distinguished guests. It is especially important and important to hold such events for young people. Students of our university are the future of the country, they will ensure the food security of Belarus. It is great to have the opportunity to hear relevant information from the Secretary of State of the Security Council and to ask questions directly.
