In Serpukhov, volunteers of all ages were honored

In the Unified Center for Support of SVO Participants and Members of Their Families, public medals “For Active Civic Position and Patriotism” were awarded. The awards were received by residents of Bolshoi Serpukhov Boris Beskin, Mikhail Yerokhin, Pavel Ignatov and Alexander Naumov.

Each of them found their own way to help. Mikhail Erokhin is the grandfather of three SVO participants. He accompanied his grandchildren to the military enlistment office, and then more than once went to the front: delivered thermal imagers, camouflage nets and other necessary equipment. Now, together with her daughter, she participates in the work of the Mother’s Heart organization and continues to support fighters. Alexander Naumov transports humanitarian supplies to the SVO zone. Behind each trip there is preparation, great responsibility and help that is waiting on the front lines.

The event was attended by Major General Andrei Morozov, Chairman of the District Council of Deputies Mikhail Shulga, Deputy Maxim Novak, Chairman of the City Veterans Organization Vladimir Kurilov and Head of the Center Lydia Khalacheva.

The Russian Bear sports school honored young volunteers. The head of the district Alexei Shimko together with the deputy of the Moscow Duma Alexei Batogov, the chairman of the district Council Mikhail Shulga and priest Alexei Spigin congratulated the children and handed them letters of thanks. For the participants, a sports quest was prepared from six thematic locations. Seven teams from the district's educational institutions competed in teamwork assignments. The winners were awarded certificates.

- As the governor of the Moscow region Andrei Yurievich rightly noted, the most terrible thing in any activity is indifference. Here are those who, despite their young age, do not stand aside and regularly make the district better. Thank you for your active position, said Alexey Shimko.

The holiday showed that volunteering in Serpukhov has no age. Some help the front, others are just beginning their journey in volunteering. But all of us have one thing in common: the desire to be useful. That's the point.
