Inspectors traffic police in Sevastopol stopped a taxi on the street Bagria and suspected wrong in the behavior of the 45-year-old passenger. During the inspection, the man tried to imperceptibly throw out the package, which, as the examination showed, was methadone weighing about 0.26 grams. This was reported in the press service of the regional MIA.
DPS inspectors stopped a taxi car during patrol. When checking the driver's documents, the police had suspicions about his passenger. The 45-year-old man behaved inadequately, was noticeably nervous, had signs of intoxication and tried to hide his badge from inspectors.
Since there were reasons to believe that the passenger’s belongings could contain prohibited substances, the police demanded to get out of the car and put the contents of the bag on the hood under video recording. The man complied, but at the same time tried to quietly get rid of the package, without reaching it to the trunk lid.
When asked what he threw away, the passenger first said that he did not understand what he was talking about. However, after being reminded of the video, he admitted to throwing away the drug he had stored for personal use. The inspectors recorded the evidence with a cone and called the investigative team.
Arriving law enforcement officers seized the package and sent the contents for physical and chemical examination. She found that it was methadone weighing about 0.26 grams. The police opened a criminal case under part 1 of article 228 of the criminal code. The sanction of the article provides for up to three years in prison.
Recall that in March 2026 in Feodosia sent to court a case against a local resident, who in February purchased through the social network methadone weighing 0.47 grams for personal use. At the same time, a court in Simferopol fined a 37-year-old citizen for buying methadone through social networks.
In October 2026, the prosecutor’s office of Sevastopol approved the indictment in the case of a 41-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man accused of attempting to sell methadone via the Internet. More than 100 grams of the drug were seized from illegal trafficking.
In March 2026, two residents of Kerch brought to the Crimea about 250 grams of methadone from St. Petersburg, packaged for single doses.
