In Sheremetyevo passenger brought coins for 1.5 million

Customs officers in Sheremetyevo stopped a Russian citizen who arrived from Istanbul. She found 87 collectible coins that were not listed in the declaration. The total estimated value of the collection exceeds 1.5 million rubles.

Among the specimens are 999 silver coins, as well as dedicated to famous characters and signs of the zodiac. The passenger claims that she collected them for herself and did not suspect the real price.

Now she can face a fine up to two times the value of the coins and their confiscation. Customs reminds that valuable items, including numismatics, are subject to mandatory declaration. The proceedings are ongoing.
