In Sheremetyevo passenger seized jewelry for 3 million

At Sheremetyevo airport, customs officers detained a passenger who arrived from Beijing. During a spot check in the green corridor, expensive jewelry was found in her luggage: three pairs of hours, five pairs of earrings and three rings. The total cost of the find exceeded 3 million rubles.

The woman explained that she was carrying all this as a gift to her friend. However, the examination established that the products are made of gold and inlaid with diamonds and other stones. The passenger did not declare a valuable cargo.

Now, instead of giving a gift, the woman became a defendant in a criminal case of smuggling. Customs officers remind us of the need to declare expensive goods. The investigation is ongoing.
