On October 17, a Single Open Day was held in the Smolensk region, organized as part of the federal project “Professionality”. The event is designed to help schoolchildren and their parents get acquainted with popular professions and educational programs that meet the needs of the economy of the region.
To date, six clusters of secondary vocational education have already been created in the region, covering such priority sectors as construction, mechanical engineering, medicine, chemical industry, agriculture and pedagogy. In 2027, it is planned to expand the network and open four more clusters that will specialize in the electrical industry, nuclear industry, transport and light industry.
The project “Professionality” is an industry model of personnel training based on the cooperation of educational organizations with employers. This approach makes it possible to adapt curricula to the needs of the real sector, create training zones that simulate production conditions and make training as practical as possible. Currently, 20 professional educational organizations of the region are involved in the project.
The program of the Open Doors Day includes excursions to educational institutions, master classes and professional tests. During the week, schoolchildren will be able to visit employers, and students of the project will spend classroom hours in schools. Also for parents of graduates there is a regional parental meeting in an online format.
A single open day is held twice a year - in April and October - starting from 2022. The organizers invite everyone who is in the process of choosing a future specialty to take part in this event.
